Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord

What is it that our heart sees that our eyes don't? Why don't they see things the same?
When we are able to truly SEE with the "Eyes" of our hearts then we are able to begin to experience life in the Kingdom that Jesus himself preached about.

As Knights we are called to be examples of solidarity to our Churches teachings, to promote vocations to Religious Life and to be supportive on all respect life issues.

But how we see things is how we react, sometimes what appears on the surface is different then what we experience when we begin to understand the situation for what it really is.

Jesus has a quality of bringing out the "Best" in people his way of looking at people was counter cultural, he dined with sinners, he welcomed lepers, healed the lame and the blind. He brought healing and hope to the marginalized.

We in council 4011 through our bicycle ministry, help bring hope to children who other wise might never know the joys of riding a bike.

It's funny how something as simple as giving someone a used bike can bring so much joy, to their lives. But that is an example that we can learn by, no Play Station Two just a simple bike can bring hope to those who might not even have a TV.

We know in our hearts that this feels good, and then we begin to understand just how the heart sees things, Jesus spoke of the law that is written onto our hearts.
The law that brings us out as volunteers, compels us to honor our deceased and to comfort the widows of our departed brothers.

Knights always strive to see with their hearts and not with their heads, we give from our bounty and not from our excess.

Being a Knight is an honor that we don't take lightly just as seeing with the Eyes of our Hearts is a skill that we develop as we give of ourselves to help others.

Let us pray for the Grace to see each other as Jesus sees us, and that as we begin to see the brokenness in each other we will then see the beauty of our various Crosses and their differences and the Sacred opportunity to bring Christ's healing and love to each other.
